Abstract:
Functional radical cervical lymph node dissection is an important part of radical thyroid cancer surgery. On the basis of effective protection of recurrent laryngeal nerve and parathyroid function, preventive lymph node dissection in region Ⅵ can be performed. When the preoperative pathology indicates suspected metastasis of lymph nodes in the lateral cervical region, lymph node dissection in the lateral cervical region can be performed.During the operation, attention should be paid to the standardized scope of dissection, which should include the zones Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, and Vb.Zones Ⅱ (Ⅱb), Ⅲ, and Ⅳ are the minimum acceptable range for cervical lymph node dissection. We should pay attention to the protection of functions of blood vessels, muscles and to prevent the occurrence of complications such as lymphatic leakage, bleeding and infection. Standard and thorough neck lymph node dissection is an important guarantee to improve the quality of life and survival of patients.
