Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical outcome of postoperative rehabilitation exercise of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer.

Method

A total of 128 patients with differentiated thyroid cancer who underwent surgical treatment from January 2019 to June 2022 were enrolled and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the order of patient visits. The patients in control group received general nursing intervention after surgery, while the patients in observation group received additional rehabilitation exercise. The patients’ recovery status between two groups was compared. Statistical analysis were performed by using SPSS 20.0 software. Measurement data such as drainage volume and visual analogue scale(VAS)scores were expressed as(

x¯
±s)and were examined by using independent t test. Count data such as the postoperative complications were examined by using χ2 test. P value of <0.05 was considered as statistically significant difference.

Result

There was no statistically significant difference of postoperative drainage volume between two groups(P>0.05). The degree of postoperative neck and shoulder pain in the observation group was significantly milder than that in the control group(P<0.05);The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 1.6%,and patients’ satisfaction was 96.9%,while 4.7% and 79.7% of the control group respectively. There was no statistically significant difference of the incidence of complications(P>0.05),however the satisfaction between two groups was significantly different(P<0.05).

Conclusion

Preventive rehabilitation exercise intervention after surgery for patients with differentiated thyroid cancer could significantly improve the rehabilitation outcome and could improve patients’ satisfaction, without increased surgical complications. The therapeutic strategy is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
