Abstract:

Objective

To study the effect of 131Ⅰ treatment for postoperative patients with thyroid carcinoma.

Methods

120 cases postoperative patients with thyroid cancer treated in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2016 were retrospectively analyzed, according to whether given residual thyroid tissue remove therapy, the patients were divided into two groups, each for 60 cases, the observation group were given 131Ⅰ treatment, the control group were not given 131Ⅰ treatment, the difference of treatment effect between the two groups were compared. The data were analyzed by SPSS 18 statistical software. The age and course of disease between the two groups were expressed by mean standard deviation, independent t test was used. The total effective rate of treatment, the residual rate of thyroid tissue and the rate of recurrence among the two groups were compared with χ2 test. P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.

Results

The total effectiveness rate of observation group was 83.33%, which was significantly higher than that of control group’s 53.33% (P<0.05). All patients were followed up for 12 months, the thyroid tissue residue rate and recurrence rate of observation group were 3.33% and 0%, which were obviously lower than those of the control group’s 51.67% and 16.67%, (P<0.05). No adverse drug reactions of digestive tract reaction, bone marrow suppression and pulmonary fibrosis during the treatment were found.

Conclusion

The effect of 131Ⅰ treatment for postoperative patients with thyroid carcinoma is remarkable, it helps to improve thyroid function and prognosis condition, which is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
