Abstract:

With the development and promotion of laparoscopic technology in liver resection, Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR), has become a feasible choice for various kinds of liver lesions over the last 20 years. Based on the popularity, resection range and the amount of bleeding of LLR, we staged the following four periods: exploratory stage, growth stage, promotion stage and maturity stage. LLR for segment and combined segment, giant liver cancer has been become a routine operation. Intraoperative ultrasound and fluorescence staining of liver tumors improve the visualization of liver tumors during surgery. The prognosis of LLR has been also confirmed when compared with open surgery. In the future, standardization of LLR will become an important issue. This article summarized all of above issues and proposed the trends of future laparoscopic liver resection, so as to promote the technical progress of laparoscopic liver resection in China.
