Abstract:

Objective

To analyze and compare the clinical efficacy of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Cooperative Surgery (LECS) with open surgery for Gastric Stromal Tumors (GST) in terms of safety and prognosis.

Methods

The data of 112 GST patients who underwent radical resection in the Department of General Surgery at the 7th Medical Center of PLA General Hospital between January 2017 and April 2023 were retrospectively collected and analyzed. According to different surgical procedures, 52 patients received LECS were divided into the combined group and 60 patients were divided into the open group who received open surgery. SPSS26.0 software was used to analyze the clinical data. The perioperative data were expressed as (), and were examined by using independent t test; categorical variables were analyzed by chi-square test and rank-sum test was used for pathological risk. A P value of <0.05 was considered as statistically significant difference.

Results

The surgery was successfully completed in all patients, and no death or related complications occurred after surgery. Compared with conventional open surgery, the combined dual-mirror group had less time of surgery, intraoperative bleeding, and postoperative hospitalization (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Compared with the open surgery for resection of GST, LECS has comparable therapeutic results and can achieve radical resection, but LECS has the advantages of shorter time of operation, less intraoperative bleeding, and faster postoperative recovery, which is worth further promotion in clinical application.
