Abstract:
Objective This study was conducted to investigate the effect of target-directed liquid intervention on postoperative hemodynamics and gastrointestinal function recovery in elderly patients with gastrointestinal tumors.
Methods A retrospective study from May 2019 to May 2022 was conducted and 97 elderly patients with gastrointestinal tumors were included in the study. Patients receiving routine liquid intervention and those receiving target-directed liquid intervention were included in the control group (n=49) and the experimental group (n=48), respectively. Statistical data analysis was performed using SPSS 28.0 software. Perioperative condition, postoperative hemodynamics and gastrointestinal function recovery related indicators were compared by independent-samples t test. The incidence of complications was analyzed by χ2 test. P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.
Results The dosages of colloid solution and crystalloid solution, urine volume, and length of hospital stay were lower/shorter in the experimental group than in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the experimental group had higher MAP and lower HR (P<0.05). The first exhaust time, bowel sound recovery time, and time to eat in the experimental group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (10.4% vs. 28.6%, P<0.05).
Conclusion Target-directed liquid intervention is conducive to postoperative recovery and gastrointestinal function recovery in elderly patients with gastrointestinal tumors. In addition, it can help to improve hemodynamics and lower the occurrence risk of complications.
