Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate clinical efficacy of the laparoscopic total extraperitoneal inguinal herniorrhaphy in the treatment of primary unilateral inguinal hernia.

Method

From January 2014 to January 2017, 120 patients with primary unilateral indirect inguinal hernia treated in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively, According to the different operation methods, 120 patients were divided into two groups: minimally invasive operation group (n=60) and open operation group (n=60) . Patients in minimally invasive operation group were treated with total laparoscopic extraperitoneal inguinal hernia repair. Statistical analysis were performed by using SPSS18.0 software. Perioperative measurement data, such as operative index and VAS score were expressed as (±s), and were examined by using t test. The postoperative complication rate was analyzed by Chi-square test. A P value <0.05 was considered as statistically significant difference.

Results

The incidence of complications in the minimally invasive operation group was less than that in the open surgery group (P<0.05) .There was no significant difference between minimally invasive surgery group and open operation group in terms of operation time (P>0.05), The time of ambulation and hospital stay were shorter in the minimally invasive operation group than those in the open operation group (P<0.05); The VAS score of the minimally invasive surgery group was better than that of the open operation group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Total laparoscopic extraperitoneal inguinal hernia repair was effective, should be further popularized in clinical application.
